Turnkey pool construction & renovation in Moraira

Moraira is the coastal side of the municipality of Teulada, a former fishing village that has grown into one of the most sought-after villa areas on the Costa Blanca. Behind the harbour and the beaches of El Portet and L'Ampolla, low-density urbanisations spread over pine-covered hills towards Benissa Costa.
Plots here tend to be generous and houses architect-designed, so a pool is rarely an afterthought. It is part of a composition with terraces, planting and the view. Solmarea Pools studies the plot, designs the pool with you, prepares the budget and manages the works through to handover, coordinating the builders, installers and specialists each stage needs. One point of contact, from the first sketch to the finished pool.

Pools as part of the architecture
In El Portet, Cap Blanc, Paichi or the upper parts of San Jaime, many new villas are designed as a single gesture: house, terrace and pool on one line, often oriented to the sea. The pool may run parallel to the glazed façade, step down to a lower terrace or end in an overflow edge facing the horizon.
That level of design means coordination matters. The architect, the structural engineer and the pool team need to agree on levels, drainage, finishes and where equipment will sit. Choices that look small on a drawing, such as the thickness of the coping or the colour of the interior, change how the water reads against white render and stone.
If you already have an architect, we work within their design and coordinate the pool with them. If you do not, we define the brief and design the pool with you, so the project starts from something clear.
Coastal plots from Moraira to Benissa Costa
The coast between Moraira and Benissa, through Cala Baladrar, Fustera and Benissa Costa, is a sequence of small coves backed by steep, rocky ground. Plots close to the cliffs are attractive but technically demanding: excavation often meets rock, retaining walls are common and access for machinery can be tight.
Exposure is the other consideration. Easterly and northerly winds bring salt spray onto the points, which affects stone, metal fittings and planting. Sheltered terraces on the south side of the house tend to be used more, and a glass balustrade or low wall can make an exposed pool far more comfortable.
Further inland, around Teulada and the vine and almond terraces, plots can be flatter and quieter, with more space for a garden around the pool. We take these differences into account in our project study, from the method of excavation to the choice of materials.
Bringing an older pool up to the standard of the house
A lot of Moraira villas date from the 1980s and 1990s and have since been renovated inside, while the pool has stayed as it was. Common signs are faded or loose gresite, a narrow coping, single-speed pumps, no heating and lighting that no longer works.
A full renovation can change more than owners expect: the interior finish, steps and benches, the edge detail, the terrace around the pool and the equipment room. Some owners convert a skimmer pool to a cleaner, flush edge; others add a heat pump and an automatic cover so the pool can be used from March to November.
Our guide to pool modernisation covers heating, saltwater, automation and covers. For a real figure, we inspect the shell and pipework during our site visit and prepare a detailed budget. Any figures you read online are only indicative, and full renovations of this kind commonly run well beyond a simple re-lining.
Licences and practical planning
Moraira belongs to the municipality of Teulada-Moraira, while Fustera and Benissa Costa fall under Benissa. Each town hall (ayuntamiento) sets its own licence requirements for new pools and for works that change a pool's structure or size. We confirm what applies to your plot and coordinate the application with the architect or technical professional required.
Many owners here live abroad for part of the year. That makes communication and organisation as important as technique: a clear budget, a realistic timetable and regular updates while the works progress. We manage the project while you are away and report progress with photos, videos and direct contact, in the language you prefer.
The quieter months, from autumn to early spring, are usually the best time to plan and carry out works, so the pool and terrace are ready before the summer season and its restrictions on noisy work in residential areas.

Questions about pools in Moraira
Can you work with my architect in Moraira?
Yes. We take care of the pool within the architect-led project, coordinating levels, structure, finishes and equipment with your architect, and manage the pool works through to handover.
Is Fustera or Benissa Costa covered by the same town hall as Moraira?
No. Moraira is part of Teulada-Moraira, while Fustera and Benissa Costa belong to Benissa. Each ayuntamiento sets its own licence requirements; we confirm them for your plot and coordinate the application with the required architect or technical professional.
Can the works go ahead while I am not in Spain?
Often yes. Many owners in Moraira follow their project from abroad. We manage the works while you are away and report progress with photos, videos and direct contact, so you remain informed at each stage.
