For international homeowners

A home on the Costa Blanca, but living in another country?

We manage your pool project even when you are not in Spain — and keep you informed throughout with progress updates, photographs, videos and direct communication with our team.

Whitewashed villa with pool and outdoor dining terrace below a mountain

Many owners on the Costa Blanca live in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France or Scandinavia for part or most of the year. Building a pool from there should not mean finding, briefing and coordinating an architect, a builder, electricians, installers and a landscaper yourself.

With Solmarea you explain what you want once. We take care of the rest — locally, in your language, with one point of contact.

01

One point of contact

You deal with Solmarea, not with a list of trades. We select and coordinate the professionals each stage needs and answer to you for the whole project — design, budget, licences, works and handover.

02

Your language

Technical conversations about structure, waterproofing and equipment are hard enough in your own language. We communicate in English, Spanish, German, Dutch and French, so every decision is clear.

03

Managed while you are away

Photos, plans and a video call are usually enough to define a first brief. We then visit the property — with you, a key-holder or your property manager — and handle access to the site throughout the works.

04

Informed at every stage

Regular progress updates with photographs and video, calls when you want them, and decisions agreed with you at key milestones. You always know where the project stands.

05

Regulations and licences

New pools generally need a municipal licence; some renovations and terrace works need a lighter permission or a prior communication to the town hall. Coastal and sloping plots can have extra requirements. Rules vary by town — we confirm what applies and coordinate the application with the architect or technical professional required.

06

Budget and payments

In Spain, prices may be shown with or without IVA (VAT, generally 21%). We set out one detailed budget with IVA shown clearly, a payment schedule linked to milestones and the scope agreed in writing before work starts.

07

Maintenance

If you are away for long periods, maintenance is planned as part of the design: automation and remote monitoring, a cover and low-maintenance materials that pay off for years.

08

Planning and timing

Autumn to spring is the natural season for pool works. Allow time for design and licences before that. If you are buying a property, tell us — we can look at the pool before completion, when leaks and old equipment can still be priced in.

Questions

Do I need to be in Spain for my pool project?

No. A first brief can be defined remotely, we handle site access with you, a key-holder or a property manager, and we keep you informed with photos, videos and calls throughout.

Who do I talk to during the works?

Solmarea. One project contact coordinates every trade on site and keeps you updated in your language.

Are prices in Spain shown with VAT?

Not always. Our budget shows clearly whether IVA (generally 21%) is included.

Can you help while I am buying a property?

Yes. Describe the property and the pool; understanding what a renovation or new pool would involve can inform your decision before completion.

Planning a new pool or a renovation?

Tell us what you have in mind and we take care of the rest. It takes about three minutes.
